Light The Torch 5K 2022!

In-Person Race: October 1 | 7PM | Downtown Wheaton

                                Virtual Race: October 1-15

Since 2014, the FT Cares Foundation has held its annual Light the Torch 5K Run & Walk each fall. This 5K run/walk is a unique race through downtown Wheaton just after sunset. In partnership with the Wheaton Park District, we can promise a great time will be had by all, whether you're a serious runner, a family looking to have some fun or walkers who want to join in the activities! The race is CARA certified.

Pre-race, enjoy a face painter, a kid’s slide and other fun activities (all free!). Of course, Torchy and the Fire Princess are on hand to pass out free glow items, take pictures with fans and cheer runners and walkers on! The race goes through the streets of Wheaton, ending in luminary lanes at the finish line and then it’s time to enjoy a light show, live entertainment, carnival rides, food and the beer garden at October Fest hosted by DuPage County Historical Museum!

The Light the Torch 5K is a popular Wheaton event. There are a large number of runners, families and kids who enjoy the festivities ahead of time, run or walk the race and there are always families along the route who decorate their houses and cheer the runners on! Deck out your house!

There's something for everyone at Light the Torch: the more glow, the better! Registration includes a commemorative shirt and glow giveaways.

A portion of the proceeds from the race will support the FT Cares Foundation and its mission of transforming lives.

Be there as we light the way through Wheaton to transform lives locally, nationally and globally!
