Jane Doyle, President

Ms. Doyle is a Senior Vice President at First Trust Portfolios L.P. She manages the Marketing area at the firm responsible for National Accounts and several product lines, including Private Label UITs, SMAs, Variable Annuities and Closed-End Funds, along with the firm’s affiliate firms. She also works with several of the firm's top accounts.

Ms. Doyle has been at First Trust since its inception in 1991 and joined its predecessor firm, Clayton Brown & Associates, in 1986. Ms. Doyle serves as President of the FT Cares Foundation. She has traveled nationally and abroad on behalf of the Foundation, including most recently to Rwanda and Guatemala.

Christina Knierim, Vice President

Ms. Knierim is Controller and Senior Vice President of FTA and FTP. Prior to joining First Trust in June 2007, Ms. Knierim spent 3.5 years with Calamos Advisors, LLC with her most recent position being Director of Investment Tax. Additionally, she spent 8 years with KPMG LLP working in the federal tax department. She received an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Flight, Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management, as well as, a Master of Science in Accountancy from Southern Illinois University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Amy Lum, Counsel

Ms. Lum, Assistant General Counsel of FTA and FTP, joined First Trust in November 2010. Prior to her arrival, Amy focused her practice on securities litigation as a Senior Associate for two large Chicago law firms and in the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Amy received her law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1996 and her B.A. from Michigan State University.

Debbie Del Giudice, Treasurer

Debbie Del Giudice is the Accounting Manager for First Trust Portfolios L.P. She is responsible for the Corporate accounting functions for First Trust and its affiliates, including Accounts Payable, Financial Statement Preparation and Corporate Audits. Debbie has been at First Trust for nearly 11 years joining First Trust in 2006. She graduated from Loyola with a degree in Accounting. She has been in Corporate Accounting for over 30 years. Debbie is the Treasurer of FT Cares Foundation. She is involved with various organizations on behalf of the Foundation, such as MarionJoy Rehabilitation Hospital and the USO.

Patricia Costello, Secretary

Patricia Costello is a Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources at First Trust Portfolios L.P. Patricia is responsible for leading all aspects of the firm’s human resource policy development which includes employee relations and development of objectives and initiatives. She advocates for what is in the best interest of the employees as related to the firm’s vision, strategic plan and organizational structure. This includes collaborating with Senior Management on employee relations, talent management, compensation, professional development, performance management, organizational processes and initiatives that enhance individual, department and company potential.


Patricia has been at First Trust since its inception in 1991. She earned her Masters of Science in Human Resources Management in 2007 from Roosevelt University. Patricia earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Human Resources Certification Institute in 2002.


Patricia currently serves as Secretary of the FT Cares Foundation.

Lisa Weier, Director of Development

Lisa Weier has been the Director of Development for the FT Cares Foundation since June 2013.  In that capacity, Lisa is primarily responsible for the selection and evaluation of non-profit organizations with whom the Foundation partners as well as fostering relationships with those organizations. Lisa graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Psychology and went on to pursue her law degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law.  After practicing at Chapman and Cutler, LLP for 10 years in the corporate and securities department, Lisa became Assistant General Counsel of FTA and FTP before moving to the Foundation.
