charity: water

Founded in 2006 by Scott Harrison, charity: water is a non-profit organization that provides clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. charity: water invests the money raised into organizations with years of experience to build sustainable, community-owned water projects around the world. Working with local experts and community members in each place where they work, charity: water finds the best sustainable solution whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. And with every water point funded, their partners coordinate sanitation and hygiene training, and establish a local Water Committee to help keep water flowing for years to come. The charity: water team works closely to ensure that every dollar is accounted for and then provides reports back to donors.  100% of public donations would go directly to fund clean water projects. With two completely separate bank accounts (audited independently and never touched for any other purpose), every public dollar donated to charity: water helps bring clean water to people in need.
